The Executive Mayor, Cllr. Freda Nkondo will embark on the Go back to School Campaign, which will start from the 22nd of January to the 26th January 2024.
Members of the Mayoral Committee will be divided into groups, and 19 schools will be visited in the entire district. The campaign is aimed at addressing social challenges that impact negatively on the future of learners, which includes, amongst others; substance abuse, Child headed families, poverty, bullying, STI’s, HIV and teenage pregnancy.
Some of the schools to be visited include amongst others; Azwifarwi Sec school, Kutama Sec School, Xihlovo P. School, Tshilwavusiku Special school, Mhinga Special School, Musina Sec. School. Vhembe District Municipality will embark on the “Go Back to School Campaign” in partnership with the University of Venda, Department of Health, Department of Social Development, Department of Education, and Vhembe TVET College.
